Get Rid of the Bureaucrats

This morning, the Democratic Senators forced through the Obamacare nightmare of a healthcare bill. Just one more example of why the current political systems does not work. Despite the unpopularity of the bill from the public at large, those in power who think they know more than the people are going to spoon feed everyone with their load of garbage and bankrupt the country in the process.

The direction they are taking in this congress is absolutely destructive. If there were somewhere else to move where people were actually sensible, I would leave this country tomorrow. Unfortunately, there is no where else to go. However, I can assure you that I will begin carefully researching other places in the hopes some place may be found.

The only way we in America can ever change the course we are on is to make radical changes in the system itself. The main problem is the professional politician class. There are few in power now that have not been there forever. My feeling is "get rid of the bums".

Therefore, why not:

a) Require all congressmen and senators to resign effectively the end of 2010 and begin election of new replacements beginning in March of 2010. Those resigning would not be allowed to run for re-election to same office.
b) Campaign would be 3 months for to primary and 5 months to general election. Spending limits would be set to level the playing field.
c) Senators would be limited to one 6 year term. That's plenty long enough.
d) Representatives would be limited to two 3 year terms.
e) A senator could run for congress and vice versa.

We would then be back to the founding fathers concept of public service, not an effective bureaucracy.
