It's simple......someone is lying. And, the consequences for either is anathema to the American public. We have a Crisis in Confidence.
A. Pelosi is correct. The CIA lies and misleads Congress. How then are we to assess the information the CIA then tells us? We can't trust them. And, they are in charge of developing the intel that keeps us safe?
B. The CIA is correct. Then, Pelosi, Speaker of the House, 3rd in line to the Presidency is a liar and political manipulator for furthering her own career at the expense of the American public. How could we ever trust her?
So, there is a crisis.....and, nobody wins. We are all losers regardless of who is right!
Sadly, that is the way politics is. No one admits culpability. Let's all blame someone else. It is at the point today that I trust no one from the President on down. It is all smoke and mirrors to enable each politician to succeed at the expense of everybody else. So Sad!!!
For the record, I trust the CIA. I have personally known many at the company years ago. My father-in-law by my first wife was a high ranking officer there. And, yes, I know spies make a habit of lying, but in this case they have nothing to gain from lying. They were protected legally and had no reason not to admit what they were doing. Much sounder reasoning than Pelosi and her supporters.
A crisis in confidence and the American Public loses.
